The Udny Arms Hotel in Newburgh near Ellon, just a 20 minute drive from Aberdeen, has been a popular venue in north east Scotland for many years.
The hotel has been in hibernation for the last 6 years and has been somewhat neglected, but it was acquired by the Kinloch family in March 2020 and our ambition as a family is to return this lovely building, which dates back to approximately 1856, in to being a centrepiece of the village again. Our family has lived in Newburgh for over 40 years has been involved in various village activities and supported local organisations in many ways.
A full refurbishment of the hotel building will commence mid 2021.
Work is now completed on refurbishing the former garden suite into a quality coffee shop called Trellis.
We are currently fully refurbishing the 2 Victorian villas which were previously an annex to the hotel. When completed these will be advertised for sale on the local property market
We have started transforming the site, opening the Trellis Cafe and converting part of the hotel back into 2 family villas. We have now engaged with a local architect and these are the next stages of our plans to bring the hotel back into use and offer new open space and amenities to the village.

We would love to hear as much feedback as possible to help inform the design development.
